Serious car accident: High speed crash kills 2, injures 2

Car accidents on Pennsylvania roads often involve young drivers who have passengers traveling with them. Unfortunately, many of these crashes result from driving at high speeds. When a passenger is injured -- or a life is lost -- in a serious car accident that was caused by such negligence, the driver may be held accountable for the financial, physical and emotional damages caused.

Accidental activation of molding machine causes fatal work injury

Too many injuries and fatalities have happened in workplaces in which lockout/tagout procedures were not in place to prevent machines from accidentally starting up while workers were dangerously close to or working on the machines. According to an accident report, these were the circumstances that led to a fatal work injury that claimed the life of a Pennsylvania mechanic. The accident happened on a recent Monday at a foundry in Providence Township. 

Inmate claims medical negligence in jail led to complications

As in other states, inmates in Pennsylvania jails have the right to appropriate medical care when required. Some inmates have existing medical conditions that require treatment, and some may also have special dietary needs. A county jail in another state is accused of medical negligence in a federal lawsuit that was filed on Feb. 1. Several medical staff members, the sheriff and his deputies, along with the county were named as defendants by the former inmate and his wife.

4 die in serious car accident by alleged wrong-way driver

A wrong-way driver allegedly caused four deaths in an auto accident on Interstate 81 in Pennsylvania early on a recent Saturday morning. State police reported that a serious car accident occurred in South Abington Township. The office of the Lackawanna County district attorney and the state police are continuing the investigation.
