When a loved one dies in a car accident, it can devastate a family. One family in Levittown, Pennsylvania, currently has to deal with the fallout of an auto accident that took the life of a 29-year-old woman.
The incident occurred on December 21 on the heavily trafficked Pennsylvania Turnpike. Another accident had caused a traffic backup, and the victim was reportedly stopped by the traffic near the Lehigh Tunnel when another car crashed into her. The victim’s mother said the family learned of the accident early in the morning the following day. The victim was traveling to Scranton to visit her boyfriend for the holidays.
The victim’s mother said that everyone who knew the woman loved her. A co-worker described the victim as hard working and vibrant, among other words of praise.
There is no word on if charges have been filed against the responsible driver. Police have not said whether alcohol contributed to the crash or if the responsible driver simply wasn’t paying attention.
This accident provides an important reminder about the need for drivers to always be vigilant, no matter what road they are on. While it may be easy to set the cruise control and not worry about anything while traveling on an interstate highway, don’t forget that traffic can stop at any time. Drivers always need to be vigilant of their surroundings. Causing an accident like the one in this case could leave you exposed to criminal charges and a wrongful death lawsuit.
