A seemingly infinite number of car accidents occur each year in the U.S. And with the advent of texting, there is more distracted driving on the roads than ever before. People are always doing other things while simultaneously operating a motor vehicle, leading to inattentive driving on roads where cars travel at speeds of more than 70 mph. If you or a loved one is the victim of a car accident caused by a distracted driver’s negligence, you may be entitled to damages.
On the night of Nov. 21, a girl was killed in a two-car crash in Doylestown Township, Pennsylvania. Three others in the vehicle were seriously injured. The auto accident occurred around 7 p.m. on the northbound bypass of Route 611. A 10-year-old female passenger in one of the cars was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. The driver of that same car was airlifted to Temple University Hospital after suffering very serious injuries.
The first car’s driver and passenger also suffered very serious injuries and were taken to the same hospital. It’s believed that the accident happened when one car struck the other from behind. At this point it’s unclear which car was behind the other.
Usually when a car strikes another from the rear, the car in the back is held responsible. If that happens to be the case in this incident, the second car may be eligible for damages in a court of law. But it also needs to be determined if the front car stopped in a manner that was unsafe to other drivers.
