The Morning Call reported this morning on the tragic injury news of numerous individuals seriously injured in a crash in Tamaqua on Saturday night. Gary Boettger of Tamaqua was critically injured and his passenger, Brad Petrisch, was also treated at Miners Memorial Hospital for injuries. Local football star Phillip “Mike” Ryan, a player for Marian Catholic High School before playing for the University of Connecticut and the Cincinnati Bengals, was also critically injured.

Tamaqua police are investigating the crash in which they say Ryan crossed the double yellow line while turning left from Northbound 309 onto Taggartsville Road when he struck the Boettger vehicle.

These are the types of tragic accidents our office has been handling  for over 25 years. Early investigation of these accidents is critical in understanding the causes of these tragic events.
