Injured on the job: Hospital committed 15 safety violations

Health care workers in medical facilities nationwide, including in Pennsylvania, have to face multiple safety hazards on a daily basis. A hospital in another state was the subject of an inspection by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration that started in Sept. 2015 and ended in Feb. 2016. Inspectors determined that the employers showed total disregard to the potential of workers being injured on the job.

Work injury can cause shock and psychological trauma

Workers in high-risk industries in Pennsylvania and across the country are typically exposed to multiple injury hazards. Although catastrophic injuries and fatalities are usually well publicized, some accidents cause non-severe physical injuries that are often not treated. However, sometimes a work injury may cause life-changing psychological injuries that may not be immediately evident. Pursuing workers compensation benefits for such injuries may be difficult.

Appeals court allows medical negligence claim to proceed

Medical professionals in Pennsylvania are expected to provide medical care of an acceptable standard. Unfortunately, medical negligence sometimes causes unnecessary pain and suffering along with additional medical expenses. A man in another state died last September after living with a forgotten surgical sponge inside him since a surgical procedure in 2003.

Serious car accident kills 5 colleagues traveling home

Five Pennsylvania families said goodbye to loved ones as they left for work on a recent Wednesday, never to see them again. They all lost their lives in a serious car accident during their commute home that afternoon. A police report indicated that the crash occurred on Route 222 near Allentown.

Personal injury: Pickup truck strikes 2 Bradford City juveniles

While an accident investigation is ongoing, one juvenile is fighting for his or her life in a Pennsylvania hospital, and another one is being treated for serious injuries. This follows a pedestrian accident that caused serious personal injury to the two children. The Bradford City Police responded to the accident early on a recent Wednesday evening.
