Two killed and two injured following truck accident

When driving in Pennsylvania, it is common to see large trucks on the roadway. These massive vehicles are necessary to transport large shipments from one destination to another. In most cases, these trucks travel long distances, which means that drivers are behind the wheel for long hours. Driver fatigue is common for truck drivers and can cause serious risks and hazards for other drivers on the road. Even when the impact is not huge, a truck accident can result in serious injuries and even fatalities.

State authorities in Pennsylvania were recently called to an accident site that involved an automobile and a truck. The collision took place in Bullskin when the two vehicles collided head-on. When emergency crews arrived at the scene of the accident, the driver of the automobile was pronounced dead. Her 7-year-old daughter was flown to the hospital where she later died. Authorities also reported two other children were injured in the incident and were transported to the hospital for treatment.

It was not clear if the driver of the truck suffered any injuries in the crash. Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the accident and have made no speculations at this time.

When a person is injured in a truck accident, the driver could be held liable for the resulting injuries and damages if the driver was negligent. The loved ones of the deceased could file a wrongful death suit in order to recover the costs for medical and funeral expenses, damages and pain and suffering. Those injured could file a personal injury claim in order to receive compensation for medical bills, rehabilitation and pain and suffering.

A truck accident could involve several vehicles and injure numerous people. It is important that drivers are aware of these massive vehicles on the roadways. Truck drivers should avoid driving long hours, check their blind spots and maintain their vehicles. A person affected by a truck accident should understand the investigation process as well as the necessary steps to file a claim for compensation.
